Conversations About Supporting African-Descent Families in Navigating Culture, Identity, and Everyday Financial Systems in Canada

We are pleased to invite you to a community workshop titled “Rooted in Culture" to Navigate Culture, Identity, and Everyday Financial Systems in Canada.

This workshop is designed to create a safe and welcoming space for families to come together, share experiences, and learn practical ways to navigate everyday financial systems in Canada while honoring culture, values, and intergenerational knowledge.

 

What to Expect

  • Open conversations about cultural attitudes toward money and family responsibility.
  • Guidance on having age-appropriate money conversations with children and youth.
  • A practical overview of everyday financial systems in Canada, including banking, credit, and budgeting
  • Opportunities for reflection, discussion, and shared learning within the community

The session is open to parents, caregivers, youth, and community members. Whether you are new to Canada or have been here for some time, you are warmly welcome to attend.
