Developing Positive Self-identity, Leadership Skills and Resilience Against Racism and Discrimination
Join the fun this summer at a three-day workshop with other African-Canadian young women aged 14-21, in Regina and Saskatoon. This participatory workshop will be held on three Saturdays in August (13, 20 and 27) will run from 1:00pm to 5:00 pm each day. Both in-person and zoom components will be available. Activities will include guest speakers, group discussions, physical movement, use of video and other media, and other learning activities.
Celebrating Heritage, Culture and Finding my Place

- Discovering my talents - what are my interests, strengths, and current and future plans?
Building Resilience Towards Unequal Treatment

- What are racism, discrimination, micro-aggression and other forms of unequal treatment and how do they affect me at school, at home and in the community?
- What are Human Rights and Gender Rights - what do I need to know?
- Developing strategies to build resilience towards all forms of unequal treatment.
Developing Leadership Skills and Celebrating in Community
